Home Store + More

E-commerce

Adapting retail experiences to a rapidly changing digital landscape

At Home Store + More, I led the UX/UI design efforts during a critical period of digital acceleration, spanning both pre- and post-pandemic phases. This role required rapidly evolving the company’s digital presence to meet changing customer behaviours—transitioning from a primarily in-store retail model to a scalable and engaging e-commerce experience.
Context and Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated a major shift in customer behaviour—from in-store shopping to online experiences.

At Home Store + More, the existing digital presence was not designed to support this sudden increase in demand, particularly for high-consideration products like furniture.
Customers lacked the ability to properly understand products online, leading to hesitation, lower confidence, and potential drop-offs in the purchasing journey.
The opportunity was to redesign the digital experience to better support user decision-making and enable the business to successfully transition into e-commerce.

Role and Responsibilities

Bridging the gap between physical and digital through user-centered design
As Design Lead, I drove the UX/UI strategy and execution, focusing on improving product understanding and creating scalable digital solutions.
  • User Problem Identification
Identified key barriers in the online journey, particularly around visualising products and understanding dimensions without a physical store experience.
  • Design Strategy & Prioritisation
Focused on solutions that could be implemented quickly and scaled across a large and constantly changing product catalogue.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
Worked closely with marketing and business stakeholders to align design decisions with commercial goals and campaign strategies.
  • Iterative Design & Delivery
Developed and refined solutions across web, email, and social channels, adapting to fast-paced business needs during the pandemic.

2

SCALABLE CONTENT & CAMPAIGN DESIGN

Developed repeatable design frameworks for marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency and efficiency across multiple channels.

3

ENGAGEMENT THROUGH MOTION & STORYTELLING

Introduced animation, video, and motion design across email and social platforms to increase engagement and improve communication.
Design Execution

Multi-channel UX/UI Execution

Delivered cohesive design solutions across e-commerce, email marketing, and emerging platforms such as TikTok, aligning the brand experience across all touchpoints.

UX | UI E-commercer solutions

One of my challenges was to entice consumers to buy large home items.
My visual design proposal was to create the furniture in 3D, but due to the high volume of products, I had to be practical and quick. I created sketches of their products with their measurements so that the customer could visualize how the product would look in their home. We have received positive feedback from customers.
